In the
summer of 2015, I saw probably one of the best jazz concerts I have ever seen. Every
year until 2018, the Providencia International Jazz Festival was held, with 3
nights of jazz with national and international artists.
That year I was lucky to see the Chilean saxophonist based in New York, Melissa Aldana, according to many (including me) one of the best current saxophonists in the world.
Already
young and very talented, she participes with different national jazz ensembles.
Melissa went to study in the United States in 2007 at the prestigious Berklee
College of Music in Boston, where she began to rub shoulders and play with
established jazz such as George Garzone, George Coleman and Francisco Mela,
among others.
In 2013, at
the age of 23, Melissa won the “Thelonious Monk International Saxophone
Competition”, becoming one of the best saxophonists in the world.
The
atmosphere in the concert was like in every jazz concert ... all the audience
concentrated, and celebrating the soloists of the instrumentalists.
The concert
was great and all the audience present were impressed by Melissa's level of
performance and music, showing us why she is one of the best saxophonists
today.

Reading what you write makes me want to go to a concert of those, I hope one day to witness one
