My university career (Musical composition) changed over time. We actually underwent a change in the curriculum (where all the subjects are) where my generation was the first to try the change (kind of like white lab rats hahaha just kidding). This change happened in the middle of the 7 years of the career.
The
subjects are Harmony, Counterpoint, Sol-fa ("solfeggio") or Voice
Practice, basic and superior, Organology, Instrumentation, Orchestration and
Analysis, to name a few. In the new curriculum mesh, the career was divided
into 3 specialties, which are ensemble conducting, electroacoustic music and
interdisciplinary.
If I wanted
to correct something in my career, I would not lean towards mesh but rather
towards infrastructures of the faculty of arts. The precariousness that exists
in the faculty is very notorious and evident, where the lack of electronic
inputs, such as decent sound equipment or “datas”, are quite present and many
times made our learning more complex and it became costly to review material,
listen works, and things like that.
It may
sound somewhat utopian, but I would like that in implementation the prestigious
university of Chile and all its campuses are on par and balanced (since the
imbalance between campuses is too noticeable) as the importance of any type of
trades ... also artistic ones.
In general
I am quite satisfied with the teaching and methodology of the university
professors. I think there is an urgent need for changes in the infrastructure.
Greetings.
